Idols 🏆

Listen to Melanie’s pronunciation as she reads her poem.

I have a collection.

The plastic, glass, metal, wood, leather, rubber, fabric all stare back at me.

I own them.

I can touch them.

I polish them.

I devote my time to take good care of them.

Then, I don’t have to say goodbye.

Happiness is in the owning.

Happiness is in the controlling.

Happiness is in the shining.

Happiness is people admiring what I have.

Happiness is people admiring me because of what I have.

Happiness is people coveting what I have.

Happiness is people coveting me because of what I have.

Happiness is people turning their head to notice what I have.

Happiness is people turning their head to notice me because of what I have.

My collection doesn’t have a heart.

They won’t hurt me.

I can collect them, and they won’t hurt me.

I can control them, and they won’t hurt me.

I can love them, and they won’t hurt me.

They don’t have a heart.

They won’t hurt me.
